My BAD experience with Kaiser International Health Group and IMG

An agent from IMG invited me to subscribe for K-35 plan in Kaiser International Health Group on April 2012. I trusted that agent since he was my former instructor so I was quickly carried away by his flowering words. He also assured me that Kaiser will soon open an office in Davao which did not happen until now. That man also let me pay arround Php 3000 to be a member of IMG so that I can be an agent too which I also paid in full. I was young then and can easily be persuaded with words. That agent took my money, signed me up and then never actually helped me be part of IMG. In short, he just want to sign me up so that he can get commission.

I was a Kaiser member for 45 months now and I noticed that the company is not credible; the fact that Kaiser is not sending me receipts or any payment confirmation for my monthly fee of Php2081.
I asked them over the phone why there are no receipts and they just said that since I was paying online from my BPI account then receipt is not needed and I can view my online payment history from their portal. I did not accept their reason for not sending receipts since payment history from portal does not count as a valid receipt. The agent on the phone told me that they are sending my actual receipts to their broker IMG which is located in Landco Bldg., Davao. I wonder why they are sending the receipts on that building when I do not live or work there. They should have sent the receipts directly to my address or email since I was the one paying them directly from my bank. I think BIR should also investigate if Kaiser is violating any laws related to giving receipts to customers.

Since Kaiser has no office in Davao, it is too costly for me to contact them on the phone, I need to load Php1000 in order to talk to them because they have no toll free hotline. What's odd is that their main hotline is hard to reached and I can only call their cellphone number which is suspicious according to my lawyer. The agents on the phone is also not helpful since they cannot provide accurate responses to my inquiry, most of the time they will put me on hold to ask their supervisors what to say to me. Since I do not want to waste my cellphone load anymore talking to people who cannot answer my inquiries, I tried emailing Kaiser customer care instead. However, it became worst since it took them days or weeks to respond to my emails.

Due to the bad customer service from Kaiser, I have decided to close my account and just transfer to Prulife or Sunlife or any other popular insurance company that is credible and has integrity. I asked Kaiser how much they will reimburse if I close the account and they confirmed Php71,000, however when I mailed them my withdrawal letter to close my account the agent told me they gave wrong information and that the correct total amount they will reimburse is only Php14,000.

So here I am now trying to close my Kaiser account to get my money back, and they did not fail to stress me out. My total money with Kaiser should be around Php 91,000 however they will only refund me Php14,000 because they said my plan is not mature yet and maturity period is 15 fucking years. Yes you are right, they are a total douchebag using my money for their own benefits. I should have saved my money to the bank instead. I am still in the waiting game with Kaiser since they are slow in responding to emails.

To the people reading this, please get to know the people behind the insurance company before signing up with them because you will never know if that company is run by assholes or scammers. Do not be fooled by the agents' words, instead read the contract and consult with a lawyer before signing up to anything or you will definitely regret it later like I do now.

To conclude this blog, I really regret signing up with Kaiser because they have HORRIBLE Customer Service and they are not transparent with their policy and contract. They are also offering cheap deals if you will review their plans.
